So I was thinking about the whole Dog thing yesterday. Or rather, I was thinking about yesterdays events this morning. Its funny how little we’ve really evolved in some ways. Despite being the “master species” at the end of the day you have a bunch of primates yelling and banging sticks on the ground to scare off a predator. I mean, that’s exactly what went on. Noone ventured in to take control of the dogs, but we all stood around and yelled at him and thumped some sticks on the ground to chase him off. Noise and display first. Every species does it, dogs, cats, deer, horses, elephants. We all try “talking” first, before actually resorting to blows. Its built-in somehow, and I can’t help wondering if we can take advantage somehow, or if we ARE taking advantage now. In school we are teaching our kids to talk first, rather than hit first, I wonder if this is successful because the evolutionary roots are arleady there.
